Men's Tennis Falls To DePaul

CINCINNATI - Host Xavier was downed by conference opponent DePaul early Sunday morning, 5-2, to open 2015 BIG EAST play.
In doubles, men's tennis fell in all three of its matches despite competitive back and forth play. Michael Moe and Connor LaFavre put on quite a performance in facing off against Kyle Johnson and Sten Leusink before falling 7-5.
After dropping the doubles point, the Musketeers sought to fight relentlessly in singles to come away with the win, but came up just short in their effort. Junior Zach Mueck and Freshman Arthur Stefani were the only players to come away with victories this morning, defeating each of their opponents in very competitive sets.
With the victory for Mueck, he moves to 3-2 in singles competition. Stefani improves to 4-1.
Xavier men's tennis will be back in action February 7th to face off against Belmont. Match play will be held at the Eastern Hill Tennis Complex with the first swing set for 7:00 p.m. #LetsGoX
