Xavier Defeats Wright State, 6-1

CINCINNATI - Wednesday afternoon the women's tennis team beat Wright State, 6-1, at Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
Amina Ismail and Sydney Liggins and Lauren Ghidotti and Daniella Patton secured the doubles point with wins over their opponents.
Going in to singles competition Xavier was up 1-0 eventually only dropping one singles match. Liggins defeated Vanessa Madrisal, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Alex Brinker won her match in three sets over Aby Madrigal.
Ismail beat Karoline Haller, 6-2, 7-6 (4), while her classmate Ghidotti beat Elaine Colern, 6-3, 6-1.
Rounding out singles competition at No. 4 singles, Cristina Di Lorenzo beat Tori Turner 6-1, 6-4.
"Overall today we did a great job," said Liggins. "We had good attitudes and remained positive. We didn't take anyone lightly. Everyone put out a great effort which helped us win the match."
The team's next match will be March 4 to take on Abilene Christian as part of their spring break trip to Texas.
