DAYTON, Ohio - Xavier baseball was shut out in game one of its doubleheader with Wright State, 5-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium.The Musketeers dropped to 4-10 on the year.

The Raiders (7-6) broke open a scoreless game in the fourth inning, scoring two runs on two hits. A Ryan Fucci home run to left field scored the first run before Sean Murphy crossed home plate on a Michael Timm RBI single up the middle.

Wright State added three runs on three hits and one error in the next inning to make the score, 5-0.

The Raiders had five more hits (10-5) than the Musketeers and committed one more error (2-1). Wright State also left four more runners on base (9-5).

Derek Hasenbeck led Xavier at the plate, going 2-for-4. Rylan Bannon, Brian Bruening and Selby Chidemo all added a hit for the Musketeers.

Timm paced the Raiders as the senior infielder went 3-for-4 with a RBI. Mitch Roman was also 2-for-5 with a run and a RBI.

Greg Jacknewitz (1-2) took the loss for Xavier, surrendering two runs and four hits in four innings of work. The sophomore also threw five strikeouts and issued one walk in his first career start.

Zach Johnson pitched the final 3.2 innings for Xavier, allowing three hits and three walks. The senior also had two strikeouts and did not surrender any runs.

Jeremy Randolph (2-0) posted the win for the Raiders, throwing six scoreless innings while only allowing four hits. The freshman pitcher also issued two walks. Logan Blair earned his first save of the year, surrendering one hit in three scoreless innings of action.
