CINCINNATI - Men's tennis obtained its fourth consecutive win, March 17th, by sweeping Western Illinois in dominating fashion, improving to 9-3 on the spring season.
With a new lineup for the Musketeers, all participants in play received impressive wins by dismantling each of their foes with skilled play.
The Musketeers started the afternoon off by earning the first three wins in the first three sets, giving them the leg on the Fighting Leathernecks.
In singles, the Musketeers continued the pounding by earning another six wins to push past Western Illinois, 7-0.
With the win, the Musketeers move to an overall record of 44-28 in singles and 23-11 in doubles. Zach Mueck and Arthur Stefani hold the best record in singles for Xavier at 10-2 on the season. Junior Zach Mueck also has a nine match win streak in place.
Xavier will be back in action March 21st to take on BIG EAST opponent Marquette. Match Play will be held at Xavier University's Outdoor Tennis Courts and will begin at 12:00 p.m.
