Women's Tennis Downs Seton Hall, 6-1

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Xavier women's tennis team defeated BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall Friday evening, 6-1.The victory improves the team's record to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Doubles partners Cristina Di Lorenzo and Daniella Patton started the match off with a doubles win, 8-3. Seton Hall answered by defeating Lauren Ghidotti and Alex Brinker, 8-5. Securing the doubles point, Lizzie Oosterbaan and Amina Ismail defeated their opponents at No. 3 position, 8-6.
Taking the momentum into singles play, Di Lorenzo defeated Marisa Queredo in two sets, 6-4, 6-0, to give the Musketeers the 2-0 advantage. Ghidotti did the same over Julia Keenan, 6-4, 6-1.
Brinker defeated Luize Strike, 7-6 (2), 6-1, at No. 2 singles, while Ismail beat Hannah Luljekvist, 6-1, 4-6, 3-0, to secure the match, 4-0.
Rounding out singles action, Patton won her match over Katie Kim, 6-4, 6-3, and Oosterbaan dropped her match to Isabell Klingert, 6-4, 6-1.
The Musketeers are back in action against Providence in South Orange, N.J. on Saturday (March 27) at 5 p.m.
