Men’s Golf Travels to Notre Dame for Fighting Irish Classic

Men's Golf Heads to South Bend
South Bend, Indiana – The Xavier men's golf team travels to South Bend for the Fighting Irish Golf Classic, which begins Monday, September 21st. The 54-hole tournament will feature 12 teams at the par 71, 7,023 yard Warren Course. The two-day tournament will consist of three rounds over two days, 36 being scheduled for Monday.
Notre Dame hosts the 12 team tournament with a challenging field, where the Musketeers will face off against Ball State, Dartmouth, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Loyola (Md.), St. Mary's (Calif.), Utah State, William & Mary, Wisconsin and Wofford.
The Musketeers opened the fall schedule on September 7th and 8th at the Turning Stone Tiger Invitational in Verona, New York. Freshman Daniel Wetterich tied for 2nd overall in his first ever college tournament, while the team finished 3rd. The Musketeers shot 295-291 in the first two rounds for a total of 586, and put up a team score of 297 in the final round for a three round total of 883 (+19). Only Cleveland State and Missouri, the host team, finished with better team scores.
The first round is slated to begin on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start with round two immediately following. Tuesday's round will begin at 8:30 a.m. with teams teeing off based on the standings. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.com.
