No. 7 Xavier Moves to 7-0 with Rout of NDSU

Trevon Bluiett led the Musketeers with game-high 23 points
CINCINNATI - No.7 Xavier extended its winning streak to 21 consecutive non-conference victories and 27 straight non-conference victories at home, beating North Dakota State Bison Tuesday, 85-55, at Cintas Center. Four Musketeers reached double digits led by Trevon Bluiett's 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds, his fourth 20-point game of the season.
Bluiett led the Musketeers with 15 points to end the first half and six assists including finding J.P. Macura across court for the easy put in for two of Macura's nine first half points. Xavier held North Dakota State scoreless for the first 4:30 of the game, with a lead of 7-0.
Freshman Quentin Goodin added a quick layup when Edmond Sumner found him behind the back for the easy bucket. Goodin then added another quick two when he swiped the ball from NDSU for the full court, two handed dunk to end the first putting Xavier up 43-22.
The Musketeers opened the second half going on a 28-8 run fueled by Malcolm Bernard's seven points, including back-to-back wide open three pointers. Sumner then found Bernard again for another three putting Xavier up 58-26.
Bernard finished the game with 10 points and eight rebounds, a career high as a Musketeer, shooting 75 percent from the behind the three point line.
Xavier out scored North Dakota State 17-2 on second chance opportunities and dominated North Dakota State on the boards 43-27. The Musketeers also our scored the Bison 22-7 on points off turnovers.
Bluiett and Macura both went 4-4 from the free throw line as the Musketeers shot 65 percent from the line.
The Musketeers finished the game with a season high 23 assists and a season low of seven turnovers.
Xavier now travels to Waco, Texas, to face the No. 9 Baylor Bears on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN 2. The Musketeers return home on December 12, when they face Utah at 5:30 p.m.
