Men’s Golf Heads to Pennsylvania for The Rutherford Intercollegiate

UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. - The Xavier men's golf team travels to Pennsylvania today for the 40th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate in University Park. The two-day tournament will be played at the Penn State Blue Course, which will be playing 7,202 yards and par 71.
The eleven-team tournament field consists of the host team Penn State, Binghamton, Connecticut, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Youngstown, and Xavier.
Xavier's lineup includes sophomore Jose Montaño in the number one position, followed by freshman Daniel Wetterich, graduate student John Burger, and juniors Fox Morrissey and David Long. Freshman Ryan Podufal will be competing as an indiviudal.
First round begins Saturday morning with split tee times off number's 1 and 10 with continuous play for 36 holes. The Musketeers will tee off beginning at 8:15 a.m. and are paired with Eastern Michigan and Georgetown. The tournament format is stroke play.
Daily results will be available through Golfstat.com.
Jose Montaño is coming off a runner up finish at the Hoosier Collegiate at Otter Creek last week. The sophomore has finished inside the top three individually in each of his last four starts.
