Women’s Tennis Earns No. 2 Seed For BIG EAST Tournament

BIG EAST Championship play begins Friday, April 19 at 9 a.m.
NEW YORK – The BIG EAST office announced the seeding and schedule for the 2016 BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championship Presented by Jeep Monday afternoon. The Xavier women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed for the tournament. This is the third time in as many years that Xavier has earned the No. 2 seed.
The seeds are determined by a committee that reviews each team's regular-season schedule, ITA rankings, results against BIG EAST and common non-conference opponents and win/losses against ranked foes.
With the No. 2 seed, Xavier receives a first-round bye. On Friday, April 29 the women will play at 9 a.m. at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C. awaiting the winner Thursday's first round action between No. 7 Villanova and No. 10 Butler.
