Abby Nugent and Clara Owen Advanced to Doubles Quarterfinals at ITA Conference Masters

SAN DIEGO - Xavier women's tennis doubles team Clara Owen and Abby Nugent took part in the ITA Conference Masters, held November 6-9, 2025 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
The duo of Nugent and Owen advanced to the Round of 16 with a come-back 6-7 (3), 6-3, 10-5 win over Louise Wikander and Marley Lambert of Denver.
The pair moved on to the Quarterfinals after topping Tilda Larsson and Francesca Davis of William& Mary, 6-1, 6-3. The Musketeers fell, 6-3, 6-4, to the No. 9 ranked Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang of Virginia.
Abby Nugent also took part in the singles bracket, opening play in the Round of 32 against Eugenia Zozaya Menendez of Southern California, falling 6-3, 6-0.
