No. 5 Men’s Tennis Large Doubles Point Helps Team Prevail over No. 4 Georgetown, 4-0

The Musketeers will face the Red Storm Saturday in semifinal match.
CAYCE, S.C. – The No. 5 seeded men's tennis team downed Georgetown, 4-0, in quarterfinal action of the BIG EAST Men's Tennis Championship presented by Jeep Friday evening.
Georgetown and Xavier met in regular season action where the Musketeers fell to the Bulldogs, 4-3.
After splitting doubles at the two and three spot, Matt Bishop and Zach Mueck captured key points to secure a 7-6 victory over Georgetown's Mike Chen and Jordan Portner to give Xavier the 1-0 advantage.
Zach Mueck made a huge comeback at No. 1 singles against Daniel Khanin to give Xavier the 2-0 lead. Mueck lost the first set, 6-0, and rallied in sets two and three, 6-1, 6-1, to win the match.
Jeremy Schneider and Trent Smith beat their opponents at the No. 2 and No. 6 singles position to clinch the match for the Musketeers.
