Musketeers Open Road Swing with Loss at Marquette

Golden Eagles top Xavier, 85-61, on Friday night at the Al McGuire Center
MILWAUKEE -Â Xavier women's basketball opened its two-game road swing on Friday night with an 85-61 loss at Marquette. The Musketeers dropped to 10-7 (2-4) on the year, while the Golden Eagles improved to 14-4 (5-2).

• Raeshaun Gaffney led three Xavier players in double figures with 12 points. The senior guard added six rebounds. She is now 10 points shy of 1,000-career points during her playing career.

• Imani Partlow posted 11 points and four rebounds in 19 minutes of action off the bench. The sophomore forward has scored in double figures six times during her career.

• Marquia Turner had 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. The junior guard was also one of three Xavier players with four assists in the game.

• Both squads hit seven 3-pointers in the game. Xavier also scored a season-high 20 fastbreak points.

• Xavier now trails the all-time series, 9-7, with a 2-6 record when playing in Milwaukee.
