Gaffney Hits Career Milestone, Musketeers Fall at No. 20/21 DePaul

Raeshaun Gaffney finished with a team-high 22 points on Sunday afternoon
CHICAGO - Senior guard Raeshaun Gaffney scored her 1,000th career point on Sunday afternoon as the Xavier women's basketball team dropped an 85-69 road contest at No. 20/21 DePaul.

The Musketeers move to 10-8 (2-5) on the year, while the Blue Demons improved to 16-4 (8-0).

• Raeshaun Gaffney led Xavier with 22 points on 7-for-18 shooting. She now has eight career games with 20 or more points.

• Raeshaun Gaffney hit a free throw at the 6:49 mark in the second quarter - her 10th point of the game - to score her 1,000th career point.

• Maddison Blackwell added 14 points on 4-for-5 shooting. The senior forward was also 6-for-6 from the foul line and grabbed four rebounds. She has scored in double figures eight times this season.

• Na'Teshia Owens chipped in a season-high eight points, while Marquia Turner finished with seven points. Both guards added four rebounds. Owens also dished out a team-high four assists.
