Sophomore collects fourth career top 10 finish shooting a final round 71

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -  Standout sophomore Mikayla Fitzpatrick shot a third round 1- under 71 to move up seven spots to notch her second straight top-10 finish, as Xavier women's golf wrapped up the Jacksonville Classic on Tuesday at the Marsh Landing Country Club.

As a team, the Musketeers finished the Jacksonville Classic just outside the top 10 with a third round score of 312 and finished 11th.

Fitzpatrick picked up her fourth of career top-10 finish and first under par performance of the year. Her nine birdies were tied for second in the field and led Xavier as a team. She rattled off back-to-back birdies late in the round, moving into the top 10 with a hot finish. The Phoenix native was 2-under on par 3's for the round and was tied for second shooting even on par 3's for the tournament.

Junior Mikayla Smith (+20) finished just outside the top 50 individually and shot a 7-over 79 in the final round.

Freshmen Morgan Tinsley and Ke'Asha Phillips both tied for 61st overall at 25-over for the tournament.

Senior Lindsey Murray rounded out the team with 26-over 242.

Playing as individuals, freshman Andie Shukow (+15) shot a final round 4-over 76 to finish with sub 80 scores for all three rounds and earned a top 30 finish with a score of 231. Teammate Amy Kucera (+16) was right behind her with a final round score of 77 and one stroke behind with a 2-day total of 232.

Senior Grace Howie also competed as an individual and placed 73rd overall.

Smith and Andie Shukow tied for seventh in the field with 35 pars apiece.

The Musketeers shot 312-307-312 to finish 11th with a final score of 931.

Host team Jacksonville took home first place with 888, Seminole State came in second with 897 and Daytona State College rounded out the top three with 900.
