Musketeers Drop 63-53 Road Contest at Bowling Green

A’riana Gray led Xavier with 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Xavier women's dropped a 63-53 road contest at Bowling Green on Wednesday afternoon at the Stroh Center. The Musketeers moved to 4-3 on the year, while the Falcons improved to 7-1.
• Xavier scored the first four points of the game before the Falcons closed the quarter on a 21-5 run to make the score 21-9. The Musketeers opened the second quarter by hitting four of their first six shots to get within six (25-19), but the Falcons closed the half on a 13-5 run to take a double-figure lead (38-24) into the locker room.
• A'riana Gray led Xavier with seven points at intermission, while Na'Teshia Owens led the team on the glass with six rebounds. Bowling Green held a 21-16 advantage in rebounding at the break.
• Bowling Green scored eight unanswered points to open the second half, taking its first 20-point lead of the game. Xavier outscored the Falcons, 16-7, in the final quarter on 6-for-10 shooting, but the Falcons held on for the 10-point victory.
• A'riana Gray and Princess Stewart led the Musketeers' offense with 10 points each. The two freshmen combined to go 9-for-15 from the floor.
• Deja Ross scored nine points on three 3-pointers, while Kindell Fincher added eight points in her second game back from a knee injury. Anniina Äijänen chipped in six points.
• Bowling Green won the battle on the glass, 34-33. A'riana Gray led the Musketeers with seven rebounds, while Na'Teshia Owens added six.
• Xavier forced 17 turnovers, turning the miscues into 11 points. Xavier held a 30-19 advantage in bench points.
• The Musketeers posted a season-high 13 steals, their second game of the year with 10 or more steals. A'riana Gray and Na'Teshia Owens led Xavier with three steals each.
