Four Musketeers Set Career-Highs in Victory Over Blue Demons

CINCINNATI – Xavier led for 38 minutes in their victory over DePaul 72-61 Wednesday night at Cintas Center. Four Musketeers set career highs and three Musketeers scored in double figures. Trevon Bluiett led Xavier with 20 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
After a slow start following the break, the Musketeers went on a 9-0 run led by Tyrique Jones' four points.
Quentin Goodin earned a new career high in assists as he improved to eight, the second most by a Xavier player this year. This included the inbound lob to Jones as Jones tipped it in as the shot clock expired.
J.P. Macura ended the game with 13 points, shooting 7-7 from the line, and a career high six assists. This is Macura's 10th game this season shooting 100 percent from the line.
Kaiser Gates finished the game with a career high of 10 rebounds.
Gaston finished tying his Xavier career high of 14 points, off the bench.
The Musketeers dominated on the glass, out-rebounding the Blue Demons 37-22.
The Musketeers had 20 assists on 26 field goals.
In the past two games, Jones is 11-12 from field goal range.
Bluiett's 13th 20-point game of the season.

To open the first half, the Musketeers went on an 8-2 run. Malcolm Bernard went 3-3 from behind the line and had three assists including a no-look, behind-the-back dish to J.P. Macura for the and-one.
To end the first 20 minutes, the Musketeers went on an 11-5 run led by RaShid Gaston's eight points.
Bluiett and Bernard led the half with nine points each.
The Musketeers led the Blue Demons 41-38 at the break.
