Matt Bishop Named BIG EAST Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University senior Matt Bishop was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week this past week. The senior went undefeated in singles action BIG EAST opponent Georgetown and William & Mary.
Versus the Hoyas, Bishop claimed the No. 1 singles match over Peter Beatty 7-6 (3), 6-0. Paired with Gabriel Araujo, he also seized the No. 1 doubles spot versus Beatty and Jordan Portner 7-5. Against William & Mary, the veteran was the only Musketeer to win his singles match, 7-5, 7-5.Â
Xavier's next match is at IUPUI on March 31.
