Pettingell, Spurck and Herdoiza earn spot in Singles Main Draw; Kotarski and Pettingell advance in Doubles Main Draw

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Xavier men's tennis had a trio of Musketeers earn a spot in the main draw at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at Purdue over the weekend.

Nick Herdoiza earned a spot in the singles main draw, and took a 6-3, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3) win over Louisville's Louis Chusseau in the opening Round.

Max Pettingell picked up a pair of wins in the Qualifying Bracket, topping Esteban Ortiz of Belmont, 6-2, 6-1, and Joao Barreto of EKU, 6-4, 5-7, 10-7, to earn a spot in the Main Draw.

Andrew Spurck also earned a spot in the Main Draw with a pair of wins in the Qualifying Bracket, topping Dayton's Eric Suk, 6-2, 6-1, and Butler's Rahulniket Konakanchi, 6-4, 6-3.

Alex Kotarski also picked up a win in the Consolation Bracket, topping Murilo Burckhardt of Tennessee Tech, 3-6, 6-3, 18-16.

In doubles play, Alex Kotarski and Max Pettingell advanced to the Round of 32 in the Main Draw with a 8-3 win over Colby Berson and Ryan Parkins of Bellarmine.

The next full squad event for the Musketeers will be the Ball State Invite, running Nov. 7-9 in Muncie, Ind.
