Â
"We're excited for what's effectively a home meet for us this weekend. This meet is a great opportunity for our alumni, parents and friends of the program to come out and support the team. Looking over the meet program, it seems like Cincinnati has done a nice job of improving the quality of the meet in almost every event. There are some exciting match ups in the mid-distance events, men's 4x100 and some of the field events in particular." Â Â

Â
"Nolan Daniels will face strong competition in the 800, not only from other teams but also two members of his own team. We should see a good battle for the win and if the weather stays favorable, some solid times in the process."
"Russell Platt will face a dominant high jumper from Eastern Kentucky as well as some strong jumpers from Cincinnati. My plan is for him to use the competition to build enough energy around the event and qualify for NCAA's this weekend."
"Zach Polk is the favorite in the long jump and the 100, but it's always fun to see how the Cincinnati athletes step it up against him. Both of those events will be exciting to be a part of."
"Aaron Peterson has a great chance to win the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In his steeple at Raleigh he was forced to go out too fast but he will be able to control the pace much more at UC. I think with a more controlled first mile, he will end up doing really well."
"Although they're the number three seed, the men's 4x100 is ready to drop a second off their performance at the Raleigh Relays where the beat UC head-to-head."Â
Â
"Gina Genco will be going for the win in the 5,000 and attempting to break 17:00 for the first time. She'll have some competition from EKU and others but she's looked great lately in practice."
"Alondra Hoyos will also be racing to win the 1500 as well as dip under 4:30 for the first time. If the race is set up properly and she stays mentally relaxed through 1200, I think she also has a shot at our outdoor school record."
"Tori Chiller has built a lot of confidence since making the finals of the 800 at the indoor BIG EAST Championship. Even though she's not seeded in the top five on Saturday, she can pull off a win with the right tactics."
"Sydney Larkin is favored to win the 400 on Saturday. If she gets out hard enough over the first 100-150 she should have a great race and win the overall title."
Â
Xavier travels to California for three meets on April 13-15. The Musketeers will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 13-15), Mt. SAC Relays (April 13-15) and the Beach Invitational (April 15).
The Musketeers are coming off a solid performance at the Raleigh Relays where they set three school records.
