Musketeers close out non-conference schedule at 4-4-2

CINCINNATI - After a scoreless 97 minutes, Xavier women's soccer fell to Dayton on a golden goal in extra time on Sunday evening at the XU Soccer Complex. The match with the Flyers set the Musketeers' non-conference record at 4-4-2, as Xavier moves to BIG EAST play next weekend.

HOW THEY SCORED

97' | DAYTON | After playing to a 0-0 draw through regulation, in the seventh minute of overtime, Dayton's Sidney Leroy crossed to Jordan Pauley just outside the top box. Pauley buried the ball in the upper left corner of the net to end the game.

NOTABLE

Xavier's offense pressured for a goal late in regulation, taking three of its four second-half goals in the final five minutes, all three on frame. Overall, Dayton led 15-5 on shots for the game.
Each team took one corner kick, both in the second half.
Courtney Lankford took two shots for the Musketeers, Maddie Tierney, Carrie Lewis and Andie Kennard each had an attempt on-frame.
The 1-0 loss marks only the second time this season Xavier has been shut out.
Toni Bizzarro played the full time in-frame, collecting three saves with one goal against. Bizzarro's record moves to 4-4-1 on the season
Carly Alfano, Lankford, Tierney and Kennard also played the full 97 minutes for the Musketeers.
Xavier moved to 4-4-2 overall, and 4-2-2 at home.
The loss is the Musketeers' first in overtime this season, moving to 1-1-2 on the season in extra time.
The Musketeers are 1-2-1 on the season against NCAA participants from 2016.
Xavier closes out the non-conference schedule undefeated against both teh Horizon League (2-0-0) and the MAC (2-0-1). Xavier also faced schools from the ACC (0-1-1), the OVC (0-1-0) and the A10 (0-2-0)
