Finn, Frilling Lead Musketeers to 3-1 Win at Georgetown

WASHINGTON – Morgan Finn and Lauren Frilling both posted career-high performances on Saturday night, leading the Xavier volleyball team to a four-set win (25-23, 25-19, 25-27, 28-26) at Georgetown. Finn posted a career-high 18 kills, while Frilling matched her career high in blocks with nine.
Xavier improved to 7-11 (2-3 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Hoyas dropped to 7-9 (1-3 BIG EAST). The Musketeers moved to 10-0 all-time against Georgetown.
• Junior Morgan Finn led the Musketeers with a career-high 18 kills to go along with a .385 hitting percentage. The right-side hitter led Xavier in kills (26) and hitting percentage (.364) over the two-day BIG EAST road swing.
• Senior Lauren Frilling matched her career high in blocks with nine. The middle blocker added six kills and two aces, including an ace on the final play of the match to seal the win. The Columbus, Ohio, native led Xavier with 13 blocks over the weekend.
• Xavier held an 11-6 advantage in blocks over the Hoyas, the Musketeers ninth match of the season with 10 or more blocks. Xavier had seven more blocks (16-9) than its opponents over the weekend.
• Meredith Klare posted a match-high 29 digs to go along with six assists and one ace. The junior libero averaged 6.14 digs per set over the weekend.
• Redshirt-freshman Audrey Adams added eight kills and a .375 hitting percentage. Freshman Moriah Hopkins chipped in seven kills and four blocks.
• Samantha Foti posted 13 digs and a career-high 10 kills as the senior recorded her first career double-double. Nadia Dieudonne had 19 assists and 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
• Mackenzi Humm posted a team-high 25 assists to go along with eight digs.
• Xavier opens a three-match homestand on Friday, Oct. 6 against Seton Hall. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.
