Xavier returns to action on Saturday at 6 p.m. against St. John's

CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball opened a three-match homestand with a three set loss (21-25, 24-26, 23-25) to Seton Hall on Friday night at Cintas Center.

The Musketeers moved to 7-12 (2-4 BIG EAST), while the Pirates improved to 10-9 (4-2 BIG EAST). Xavier dropped to 6-3 in the all-time series with Seton Hall.

NOTABLES

• Freshman Maya Krause led the Musketeers with 13 kills. The outside hitter added seven digs and two blocks.

• Junior Morgan Finn added nine kills, while Moriah Hopkins chipped in six. Laura Grossman added five kills.

• Junior McKena Estes posted a match-high 23 assists to go along with eight digs. Mackenzi Humm added 10 assists and four digs, while Nadia Dieudonne recorded eight assists and five digs.

• Meredith Klare recorded a match-high 15 digs to go along with three assists. The junior libero now has 1,280 career digs to rank seventh all-time at Xavier.

• Xavier had one more block (8-7) than Seton Hall. Senior Lauren Frilling led the Musketeers with four blocks, while adding four kills.

• Senior Samantha Foti added 13 digs and one kill.
