WOMEN
"I'm not happy with our women's team results from today. We're more talented and more fit then how we raced today and we failed to reach both of our goals which were top eight and to beat Butler. We came into the meet a little sluggish from the past two weeks of training but we still should have raced better."
Â
"Individually, Maya Hannagan stepped it up a lot today and had a great race. She ran smart in the first mile, held strong in the middle of the race and finished the last 600 better than she has in the past. I was also really happy with how Courtney Klatt raced. It was her first college meet and she handled everything really well, finishing as our number six runner."
Â
MEN
"The guys are so close to where we want to be. We ran so strong through our top four but this sport is about five scoring runners, not four. We've come so far from where we were last year so it's hard to be upset at the results. On a wet and very muddy course today, we had four guys run faster than what our top guy ran last year. Individually, Tom, Grayson and Jack all had really good race and were only 18 seconds apart. Brady went out a little too hard but held on well and was only 41 seconds off our top guy."Â Â

• Xavier returns to action at the BIG EAST Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27. The meet is being held at the Northview Church XC Course in Carmel, Ind.
