Senior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 29 digs on Thursday night

OMAHA, Neb. - Xavier volleyball went up 2-0 at No. 10 Creighton on Thursday night, but couldn't hold on for the upset as the Bluejays escaped with a five-set victory (25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 17-25, 13-15) over the Musketeers. Xavier dropped to 6-15 (4-6 BIG EAST), while Creighton improved to 17-4 (9-0 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Senior Morgan Finn led the Musketeers with a season-high 15 kills, while classmate Laura Grossman chipped in 12 kills. Sophomore Audrey Adams added eight kills and a .33 hitting percentage.

• Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne posted a team-high 24 assists with 13 digs, while senior McKena Estes added 23 assists and seven digs. Estes also recorded a team-high three aces.

• Senior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 29 digs, while classmate Laura Grossman added 16. Freshman Ryan Shannon chipped in nine digs.

• Xavier posted seven more total team blocks (15-8) than Creighton. Freshman Jayda Carlton recorded a match-high eight blocks, while senior Morgan Finn added six. Sophomore Moriah Hopkins had four blocks (three solo, on assist).
