
Women's Soccer Tops Seton Hall 3-0 for First 10-Win Season Since 2003

Musketeers remain in tie for third place in BIG EAST standings
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - For the first time in 15 years, Xavier women's soccer hit the 10-win mark for the season, topping Seton Hall on the road on Thursday evening to move to 10-6-1 overall. Carrie Lewis scored the game-winner in the first half, and Emily Burton and Samantha Dewey added a pair of insurance goals after the break for a second-straight 3-0 win, the eighth shutout of the season.
At 4-2-1 in BIG EAST play, Xavier stands in a tie with St. John's for third place in the BIG EAST standings behind Georgetown and Butler. The Musketeers are looking the secure a second-straight bid to the BIG EAST Championships by finishing in the top six, and the program's first home match by securing one of the top four seeds.

- Carrie Lewis' goal was her second of the season and first of BIG EAST play. Her point total stands at four for the season, matching Molly McLaughlin and Brooke Sroka, who added a point on an assist on Emily Burton's goal, for fourth most on the team.
- Emily Burton's tally was the first of her Xavier career. She's the 15th Musketeer to score a goal and 19 to score a point.
- Xavier has 27 goals on the season, the most since scoring 28 in the 2015 campaign with two regular season matches remaining.
- Xavier led 15-7 on shots, led by three each for Samantha Dewey and McLaughlin.
- The Musketeers led 3-1 on corner kicks.
- Toni Bizzarro played the full time in frame, collecting three saves with no goals against for her 10th win and seventh shutout, including her third in BIG EAST play.
- Hayley Jakovich, Grace Bahr and Allison Klimkowski played the full-time in the Xavier backfield, helping collect the eighth shutout of the season for the Xavier defense.
- The win is Xavier's 10th of the season, the first time hitting the 10-win mark since 2003's 12-8-1 season.
- Xavier moved to 4-2-1 in BIG EAST play, standing in third with 13 points, just one shy of last season's program record 14 points with two games remaining.
- Xavier moved to 4-1-1 all-time against the Pirates.
