Men's Golf Hosts Musketeer Classic to Finish Out Fall Season

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's golf will finish out their fall season this coming Monday and Tuesday by hosting the Musketeer Classic at Maketewah Country Club. The Musketeers will look to finish the fall on a high note at their home course.

Freshman Trey Rath was the Musketeers' top finisher from last weekend. He finished in 36th individually with a score of 221 (+5), he carded two rounds at even par.

Michael Prebles and Nick Frey will both look to improve on their late round scores form the last tournament. Prebles finished with a total of 228 (+12) after starting with a 73 (+1) in the first round, his total put him in a tie for 48th. Frey finished last weekend with a 230 (+14) after beginning the tournament with a 75 (+3), his total score put him into a tie for 55th.

XU will get a look at some conference competition as well, hosting DePaul and St. John's at the tournament.

FORMAT

The men will play 54 holes over two days at the event, beginning with 36 continuous holes on the first day and finishing with 18 on day two.

The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 22 and day two will begin at 9 a.m.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS

17 total teams are heading into this weekend's tournament, including Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, DePaul, IUPUI, La Salle, Miami (OH), Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio State, St. John's, West Virginia, Wright State, and Xavier.
