CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball dropped a five-set match (29-27, 25-22, 17-25, 22-25, 9-15) match to St. John's on Saturday night at Cintas Center. The Musketeers dropped to 8-16 (6-7 BIG EAST), while the Red Storm moved to 20-8 (9-4 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Freshman Norah Painter and senior Laura Grossman paced the Musketeers with 14 kills each. Sophomore Audrey Adams added 10, while senior Morgan Finn chipped in nine.

• Xavier had five players with 10 or more digs paced by senior Meredith Klare who had 22. Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne added 15, senior Laura Grossman had 14 and senior McKena Estes and freshman Ryan Shannon both had 12.

• Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne led the team in assists with 26, while senior McKena Estes added 21.

• Xavier held a 12-11.5 advantage in blocks, while the Red Storm had six more aces (6-0). Sophomore Audrey Adams led the squad with seven blocks. The Musketeers have posted 10 or more total team blocks in eight straight matches.

• St. John's captured the season series between the two schools, 2-0. Xavier moves to 10-3 all-time against St. John's.
