Men's Basketball Plays Illinois In Its Final Game In Maui Jim Maui Invitational

Musketeers have not played Illinois since 2006-07 season.
MAUI, HI --- The Xavier Musketeers, 2-3, look to snap a three-game losing streak when they take on Illinois, 1-3, in Maui Jim Maui Invitational action on Wednesday at the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui.
Illinois leads the series with Xavier 2-1, although XU won the last meeting 65-59 at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati in the 2006-07 season (12-29-06).
Despite its loss to now-No. 25 Wisconsin on Nov. 13, Xavier has won 10 of its last 13 games against seven different teams from the Big Ten Conference since the 2007-08 season, including 4-1 in NCAA Tournament action. Xavier's 13 games and 10-3 record vs. the Big Ten during that 11-year span have been played against Indiana (1-0), Iowa (1-1), Maryland (1-0), Michigan (1-0), Minnesota (1-0), Purdue (3-0) and Wisconsin (2-2).
After completing play in Maui on Wednesday, Xavier returns home to open a three-game homestand on Wednesday, Nov. 28 vs. Miami (Ohio) at 6:30 p.m. at Cintas Center.

• Xavier is making its first-ever trip to the Maui Invitational.
• Xavier and Illinois travelled together to Maui. The two teams met in Indianapolis last Thursday and shared a charter flight to Maui; they return to Indy this Thursday.
• Xavier has won 10 of its last 13 games against seven different teams from the Big Ten Conference since the 2007-08 season.
