WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.Β - Freshman Lauren Wasylson was one of three Musketeers in double figures on Wednesday night, scoring 16 points to lead the Xavier women's basketball team to a 62-50 win at Wake Forest. The Musketeers move to 4-1 on the year, while the Demon Deacons fall to 3-2.

β’ Xavier knocked down two 3-pointers to open the game, taking a 6-2 lead and forcing a Wake Forest timeout. The Demon Deacons ended the quarter on a 12-3 run to take a 14-9 advantage.
β’ The Musketeers opened the second quarter on a 14-2 run, taking their largest lead of the half (23-16) with 3:28 left on the clock. Wake Forest battled back to knot the game at 26 heading into the locker room.
β’ Aaliyah Dunham and Lauren WasylsonΒ both had nine points to pace the Musketeer offense in the first half. Dunham also pulled down a team-high four rebounds. Wake Forest held a 23-13 advantage on the glass, while the Musketeers held a 11-4 advantage in points off of turnovers.
