Men's Basketball Welcomes Miami On Wednesday To Open Homestand

Musketeers play the next three games at home.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier and Miami meet for the 102nd time on Wednesday night at Cintas Center at 6:30 p.m. The game opens a three-game homestand, which equals Xavier's longest of the season.
Xavier leads the series with Miami (Ohio) 54-47, including wins in three straight meetings, seven of the last nine and 11 of the last 14 meetings. Xavier and Miami have met 101 times, which is second only to Dayton (161) all-time among XU opponents. Xavier is 8-1 versus Miami (Ohio) at Cintas Center, including wins in each of the last six meetings at XU's on-campus home. Xavier beat Miami 68-54 in the 2000-01 season in the first regular season game played at Cintas Center (11-18-00).
Xavier, 3-3, won its final of three games in the Maui Invitational on Nov. 21, 83-74 over Illinois.
Sophomore Elias Harden contributed a career-high 14 points on the strength of a career-high four 3-pointers, his second straight game setting a career scoring high. Junior Quentin Goodin led four Xavier double-figure scorers with 15 points. XU snapped a three-game losing streak. Miami, 3-3, evened its record with a win over Army on Saturday.
Xavier has won eight straight and 16 of its last 17 meetings against teams from the Mid-American Conference. Those 16 wins over MAC teams include wins over Bowling Green (2), Kent State (4), Miami (5), Ohio, Marshall, Buffalo, Toledo and Western Michigan.

• Xavier's Tyrique Jones grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds in the Evansville win on Nov. 10, XU's first 20-rebound game since David West grabbed 21 in an overtime win vs. George Washington in the 2000-01 season (2-3-01).
• Xavier won its first BIG EAST Conference Regular Season Championship last season. XU played in its fifth straight NCAA Tournament and its 12th in 13 years.
