Men's Basketball Hits The Road For A Tough Test At Missouri

COLUMBIA, MO --- The Xavier Musketeers, 7-4, take on the Missouri Tigers on Tuesday night at Mizzou Arena. The game is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU and 700 WLW. Xavier has won five of its last six games.
Missouri, 6-3, is coming off its third straight win, an 80-64 victory over Oral Roberts on Dec. 7. Mizzou has beaten Oregon State and American Athletic Conference favorite UCF, while suffering losses to Iowa State and Kansas State and a two-point home setback vs. Temple. Xavier, 7-4, is coming off a 95-77 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at Cintas Center. Xavier shot 71.4 percent (35-of-49) from the field, the highest single-game effort by any team in the nation so far this season and just shy of the school record (72.2 percent vs. Butler in 1991).
Xavier leads the series 5-2, including four straight wins in the series. Xavier won the last meeting 83-82 in overtime at the 2016 Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando.
Xavier has had recent success against current teams in the Southeastern Conference despite its 88-79 overtime loss to No. 8 Auburn on Nov. 19 at the Maui Invitational. XU is 19-6 in its last 25 games against nine different current SEC members dating back to 2008.
