MEYOÂ INVITE
"This Friday we'll have Maddie Britton, Allison Sinning and freshman Jenna Clayworth racing in a very competitive 5,000 at Notre Dame. For Britton it will be her first real test since racing in the NCAA Cross Country Championship and the goal will be for her to lower her indoor 5,000 school record. For Sinning, this will be a great opportunity for her to improve on her 5,000 PR and see if she's ready to score at the BIG EAST Indoor Championship in the event. For Clayworth, this race is about opening up some opportunities. Her focus this season was supposed to be the 3,000 but I didn't want to limit her going into BIG EAST and the outdoor season by not racing in the 5,000 at all. She's an experienced racer with a great head on her shoulders so I'm confident her first college 5,000 will go well."
AKRON INVITE
"Now that we're starting to see more athletes recover from the flu that effected our team over the past two weeks, we should have solid group traveling up to Akron this weekend. These last two meets are great opportunities for athletes that will potentially be going to the indoor BIG EAST Championship to fine tune what they've been working on all season."
Â
"On the men's side Grayson Jenkins made the Gold section of the 3,000. He's done well at this meet the past two years and I'm looking for him to have a big breakthrough in this event. Nolan Daniels should be back in the lineup after being out sick for two weeks. This will be a trial meet to see where he's at after missing so many workouts. Both Jack Hautz and Garrett Knapik will face great competition in the men's Gold 5,000. Chris Taylor and Zach Polk also look to move up the leaderboard in the BIG EAST Conference in the Gold section of the 60m dash. Finally, Polk also made the Gold section of the long jump."
Â
"On the women's side, we will probably have Maddie Britton double back in the mile after racing in the Championship 5,000 at Notre Dame on Friday night. Although she doesn't normally race in the middle distances, she's always wanted to break 5:00 in the mile so I'm going to give her a shot on Saturday. Kara Robinson will also look to improve on her performance from Marshall last week and set herself up for another podium finish at BIG EAST. She's come a long way from the start of the season and has looked better in each meet we've attended. Sheridan Davenport should has also looked very strong lately and should do well against the competition she'll face in both the 200 and the 400 at Akron."
