Xavier Falls to Wright State in Closely Contested Match

CINCINNATI- Xavier men's tennis fell in a closely contested match to instate rival, Wright State, 4-3 on Sunday.

Xavier was exceptional in doubles play, winning two matches and leaving one unfinished. At No. 2 doubles, Connor LaFavre and Matthew Graft defeated Param Pun and Marcel Ueltzhoeffer, 6-1. The freshman duo, Brett Winters and Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal, won at No. 3 doubles, 7-5.

Graft also won his No. 5 singles in two sets, 6-4, 6-3. Gabriel Araujo won at No. 4 singles in two sets against Ueltzhoeffer, 6-2, 7-5.

The Musketeers are now 1-6 on the season. Xavier will host two local opponents this weekend at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club. On Friday, March 2, Xavier will face Cleveland State. On Saturday, March 3, the Musketeers will play Northern Kentucky University.
