DELAND, Fla. - Freshman Morgan Tinsley tied for third, leading Xavier women's golf to a third place finish at the Babs Steffens Invitational on Monday. As a team, the Musketeers recorded a 311, 312, 316 (+75, 939) scorecard.

Tinsley led Xavier, starting the day and finishing it in third-place as she entered the clubhouse shooting 75, 76, 76 (+11, 227).

Tinsley finished the final round 4-over and tied for the second-most pars throughout the event with 39 of Xavier's 147.

Andie Shukow finished second for XU and 15th in the field, opening the back nine with a birdie and finishing the competition carding 77, 76, 80 (+17, 233).

Mikayla Fitzpatrick tied for 22nd place with a score of 237 (+21), putting up a second straight 18 hole score of 78 to finish the tournament.

Amy Kucera jumped nine spots to land in a tie for 43rd place. Kucera also shot her best round of the tournament entering the clubhouse shooting a 78, +6 in the final round.

The Musketeers jumped one spot on the team leaderboard, finishing in third place. Xavier's scorecard read 311, 312, 316 (+75, 939) for the tournament. Saint Leo took first place shooting +55, 919 over the course of the three days.

NEXT UP

Women's golf partakes in its final tournament of the regular season, competing in the Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky. The outing takes place at University Club at Arlington kicking off March 30-31.
