Women's Golf Finishes First with Two in Top Five Individually at Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. - Mikayla Fitzpatrick and Morgan Tinsley both finished in the top-five as Xavier women's golf won a playoff hole to take first as a team on Saturday at the Colonel Classic.
XU's was 1-under on the playoff hole to secure its first team title since 2014. The win came on the strength of a day two 295 team score, which was the third best round of the season for the Musketeers and the top team score in the field this weekend.
Fitzpatrick lowered her score by three strokes on day two, shooting a 1-under round of 71 to move up second spots and take third-place as an individual.
Tinsley rocketed up 10 spots on the leaderboard and continued her strong play after being named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. The freshman carded a 74 on day two to finish in a tie for fifth at 5-over.
Andie Shukow and Mikayla Smith also recorded top-20 finishes, tying at 8-over to give XU four golfers in the top-20.
Grace Howie rounded out the team scoring at 11-over with a consistent 78-77 tournament.
