
Women's Golf Finishes 10th at UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Xavier women's golf wrapped up the par 72 UNF Collegiate this afternoon with a 10th place finish. The Musketeers were led by junior Mikayla Smith who tied for sixth overall.
Smith jumped three spots in the final round and carded three birdies to finish the day shooting 73 (+1). The junior finished the competition in a three-way tie for sixth, earning a score of 72, 72, 73 (217, +1). Smith led the competition in par threes with an average of 2.83, finishing 2-under on short holes.
Sophomore Mikayla Fitzpatrick finished the tournament tied for 19th with a 69, 78, 73 (222, +6) card. Fitzpatrick led the Musketeers in birdies, earning 10 of Xavier's 26. The sophomore's best round came on day one where she shot an impressive 69, where she shot six birdies in round one.
Xavier's Grace Howie also improved her standing, jumping two spots to finish tied for 27th. Howie's best round came in the first round where she earned three birdies. Two birdies were back-to-back just before evening her scorecard on the 18th hole. The redshirt-senior collected a 71, 79, 75 (225, +9) final score.

Xavier women's golf enjoys a two-week break before participating in the Babs Steffens Collegiate in Deland, Fla. The three-day outing will take place at Victoria Hills Golf Club Saturday, March 24-26.
