Fields, Richardson Added to Athletics Compliance Staff

Both employees started their new roles during the summer 2018
CINCINNATI - Xavier Athletics has added two members to its compliance staff in Leslie Fields and Kyle Richardson. Fields will serve as assistant director for compliance, while Richardson will be the compliance law clerk.

"We're thrilled to add Leslie and Kyle to our team and to have them help further our 'Ask Before You Act' culture," said Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Jeff Poulard. "Leslie brings a wealth of knowledge earned over the course of a distinguished career and we're extremely fortunate to have her. Kyle's professionalism and enthusiasm have quickly made him an in important member of our team and we're excited to welcome him back. This expansion of our staff ensures that we can commit to an even higher level of accessibility and accuracy in maintaining an atmosphere of compliance for our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and boosters."

From 2013-17, Fields served as the Senior Woman Administrator/Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services at Northern Kentucky. She oversaw all compliance activities for 17 sports programs, including monitoring, rules education for a variety of constituents and reporting to the university and the NCAA.

She served as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics at NKU and helped the university's transition from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I. Fields also supervised the academic advisor staff.

She also has compliance experience at Bellarmine University (Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance - 2011-13), the University of Wisconsin (Assistant Director of Compliance - 2008-11), the University of Maine-Orono (Senior Woman Administrator/Associate Athletic Director for Compliance - 2006-08) and at Eckerd College (Director of Compliance/Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director - 2004-06).

Fields holds a bachelor's degree in communication processes from Green Bay (2000) and a master of business administration/sport administration from Ohio (2003).

Richardson joined the compliance staff as a law clerk in the summer of 2017. He rejoined the staff in the summer of 2018 and will work with the Musketeers for the upcoming academic school year.

Richardson assists in the day-to-day operations of the compliance office. He works with the NCAA Eligibility Center, helps organize scholarship renewal information and assists with waiver preparation and rule education.

Richardson is a third-year law student at the University of Cincinnati's College of Law. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and history from Kentucky in 2016.
