Meredith Klare posted a match-high 13 digs
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Xavier volleyball dropped its first match of the Puerto Rico Clásico in three sets (19-25, 21-25, 21-25) to Missouri on Friday night. The Musketeers moved to 1-2, while the Tigers improved to 3-1.
• Senior Laura Grossman posted a team-high nine kills to go along with seven digs and one block. Freshman Norah Painter added eight kills and senior Morgan Finn chipped in seven.
• Senior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 13 digs to go along with five assists. She added one of the team's four aces.
• Senior McKena Estes recorded a team-high 14 kills, while posting six digs and one assist. Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne chipped in 13 assists and eight digs.
• Junior Audrey Adams led Xavier with three blocks. The middle blocker added four kills.
• Missouri posted a 16-8 advantage in blocks and an 8-4 advantage in aces.
• Xavier returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 2 at the Puerto Rico Clásico. The Musketeers face Arizona State at 12 p.m. and Towson at 5:30 p.m.
