Morgan Finn Posts Season High in Kills, Xavier Falls in Home Opener to Indiana

Senior Morgan Finn led the Musketeers with 10 kills and a .389 hitting percentage
CINCINNATIÂ - Senior Laura Grossman posted a season-high 10 kills on Friday afternoon as the Xavier volleyball team dropped its home opener in three sets (15-25, 24-26, 16-25) to Indiana. The Musketeers moved to 1-8, while the Hoosiers improved to 7-2.
Xavier continues Queen City Classic action against Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m. at Cintas Center. The Colonels dropped a three set match (14-25, 14-25, 13-25) at Cincinnati on Friday afternoon. Eastern Kentucky moved to 1-9 following the loss.

• Senior Morgan Finn led the Musketeers with a season-high 10 kills. The right side hitter added a .389 hitting percentage and one block.
• Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne posted a match-high 19 assists to go along with four digs. Senior McKena Estes chipped in 13 assists and five digs.
• Freshman Ryan Shannon led the Musketeers with 11 digs in her debut. Senior libero Meredith Klare added nine digs. She is now 19 digs away from moving into third place all-time at Xavier in career digs.
• Senior Laura Grossman had eight kills and nine digs. Freshman Kelly Franxman posted five kills in her debut.
• Freshman Jayda Carlton chipped in four kills and a team-high four blocks. Sophomore Moriah Hopkins added four kills and two blocks.
• Indiana had six more total team blocks (11-5) than Xavier. Both teams had two aces in the match.
