SAN JUAN, P.R. - Xavier volleyball dropped its Puerto Rico Clásico finale to Towson on Sunday night in three sets (20-25, 25-27, 17-25). The Musketeers moved to 1-4 on the year, while the Tigers improved to 3-3.

NOTABLES

• Freshman Norah Painter posted eight kills and four digs. The freshman outside hitter led the team in kills over the weekend with 30, averaging 3.00 k/s with a .288 hitting percentage.

• Senior Laura Grossman led the team in kills with 11. The outside hitter also recorded six digs and both of the team's aces. She finished the weekend averaging 2.70 k/s and 2.40 d/s.

• Morgan Finn, Audrey Adams and Moriah Hopkins all chipped in seven kills, while Jayda Carlton added five. Finn also posted four blocks.

• Nadia Dieudonne posted a team-high 20 assists to go along with eight digs. Fellow setter McKena Estes added 16 assists and five digs.

• Senior Meredith Klare recorded a team-high 12 digs. The libero led the team in digs (31) over the weekend, averaging 3.10 d/s.

• Towson had two more total team blocks (6-4) than Xavier and had one more ace (3-2).

• The Musketeers return to action at the Stacey Clark Classic on Sept. 7-8 in West Lafayette, Ind. Xavier takes on Purdue, Louisville and Lipscomb during tournament play.
