Audrey Adams led Xavier with 13 kills; Musketeers post season-high nine aces

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Xavier volleyball captured its first BIG EAST win on Saturday night, picking up a four-set victory (14-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22) at Seton Hall. The Musketeers moved to 3-10 (1-1 BIG EAST), while the Pirates dropped to 5-11 (0-3 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Sophomore Audrey Adams led the Musketeers with 13 kills and a .435 hitting percentage. The middle blocker added two blocks. Classmate Moriah Hopkins chipped in a season-high 12 kills and three blocks.

• Freshman Mackenzie Mangette posted eight kills and a .571 hitting percentage. The middle blocker added five aces, the second most by a BIG EAST player this season. The five aces also rank tied for second in program history.

• Senior Laura Grossman posted seven kills and 11 digs. Classmate Morgan Finn chipped in six kills and a .312 hitting percentage.

• Senior setter McKena Estes recorded a team-high 28 assists to go along with two digs and two aces. Sophomore Nadia Diedonne added 17 assists.

• Senior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 16 digs on the night. The libero added two assists.

• Xavier had one more total team block (7-6) than the Pirates. The Musketeers also posted a season-high nine aces.

• The Musketeers continue BIG EAST action on Friday, Sept. 28 against Providence. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.
