Volleyball Sweeps Seton Hall, Looks Ahead to Dig Pink Match Tomorrow

Xavier wins in three sets, to play St. John's at 6:00 pm ET
• Xavier will host St. John's tomorrow at 6:00 pm ET for their annual Dig Pink Match.

Highlights |
• Xavier had their best hitting percentage of the season at .398, recording 52 kills of a minimum 75 points. This is also Xavier's first sweep of 2019.
• Moriah Hopkins led the team with 10 kills and a .444 kitting percentage. She also recorded two blocks (both assisted).
• Jayda Carlton led the Musketeers defensively as she recorded for blocks (one solo) of the teams total of six.

Summary |
• Xavier took an early lead in Set One, but couldn't pull away by more than two until they established a 16-11 advantage following five-straight kills. Seton Hall came back with a 4-1 run, but the Musketeers never lost control and would lead by as much as six on their way to a 25-19 set victory.
• Xavier continued momentum into Set Two with a 4-1 start, but Seton Hall came back to tie the score at 4-4. After a brief exchange, Seton Hall went on a roll with an 8-1 run to take their largest lead of the match at 12-7. However, Xavier responded with a 6-1 run to tie the score again at 13-13. From then on, Xavier alternated between a two-point deficient and a one-point deficient until a late 4-0 run gave them the lead at 22-20 and they never looked back.
• Seton Hall got off to a hot start in Set Three by going on a 5-0 run. Not to be outdone, Xavier immediately responded with a 7-0 run of their own. Keeping their foot on the gas, Xavier kept their foot on the gas with a 4-1 run in the middle of the set to take a 14-9 lead. The Musketeers led by as much as eight on their way to a match-clinching 25-17 set score.
