Men's and Women's Tennis Continue Invitational Schedule

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's tennis both return to action this weekend as they continue their fall invitational schedule. The men will travel to West Lafayette as they compete in the Purdue Invitational, hosted by Purdue University. The women will also hit the road as they travel to Cleveland for the Viking Invitational, hosted by Cleveland State University. Play for both teams will begin on Friday, Oct. 4th and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 6th.

Men's Tennis

The Musketeers will be among 19 total schools competing in the Purdue Invitational. Those competing this weekend include Army, Ball State, Butler, Cardinal Stritch, Cleveland State, DePaul, Illinois State, IUPUI, Louisville, Marquette, MTSU, Niagara, Olivet, Purdue, Purdue NW, Toledo, Valparaiso and Wright State.

Play will begin on Friday with one singles around and two rounds of doubles. Saturday will continue with two singles rounds and two doubles rounds. Sunday will conclude play as the teams will compete in one round of singles, with additional matches to be determined.

Women's Tennis

Xavier will join Cleveland State, Akron, and UCONN in three days of competition. Play will begin on Friday, as the Musketeers will take on Akron in singles at 10:00 a.m., followed by Cleveland State at 12:30 p.m. in doubles. On Saturday, Xavier will take on UCONN in doubles at 12:30 p.m. and finish out the day with a singles match against Cleveland State at 1:30 p.m.

The Musketeers will close out the invitational with a singles match against UCONN at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, followed by a doubles matchup against Akron at 11:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the tournament, a singles and doubles champion will be named based on a point system.
