Men's Golf Heads to West Virginia for Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Xavier men's golf gets back in action tomorrow morning in the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia.

Xavier brings with them the same lineup that competed in the UC Bearcat Invitational.

- Brian Jennings II

Ben Pirro has an average of 75.83 through the Musketeers first two tournaments of the season. Trey Rath is just ahead of Pirro with an average of 75.50 over the first six rounds of the season. Both Rath and Pirro carded even-par rounds during the Bearcat Invitational and Pirro finished one stroke ahead of Rath in total score.

Nick Frey has an average of 78.67 so far this season. Frey ended the Bearcat Invitational tied for 67th individually.

Imaad Qureshi also joins the Musketeers for the Mountaineer Invitational. He has an average of 76.50 over six rounds at the Badger Invitational and the Bearcat Invitational.

Freshamn Brian Jennings made his XU debut at the UC Bearcat Invitational. He carded a 227 (+14) in his first career collegiate tournament.

FORMAT

There will be 54 holes played over the two-day tournament in West Virginia.

Day one will be a "musket"-shot start at 8:30 a.m. while Tuesday will begin with tee-timed starts.

There are 15 team set to play in the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational: No. 25 West Virginia, Washington State, UConn, Southern Miss, Florida Atlantic, Rice, Davidson, Akron, James Madison, Eastern Michigan, George Washington, Youngstown State, Marshall, Towson and Xavier.
