Junior Aaliyah Dunham had 11 points, six rebounds and two steals on Saturday

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Four Musketeers scored in double figures on Saturday afternoon as Xavier women's basketball dropped a 64-57 game at Rider at Alumni Gymnasium. Xavier moved to 1-2 on the year, while the Broncs improved to 2-1.

FIRST HALF

• Rider opened the game on an 11-0 run on 5-for-6 shooting before a Courtney Prenger layup at the 5:51 mark put Xavier on the scoreboard. The Musketeers responded by going on an 11-2 run capped by an A'riana Gray layup to tie the game with 2:13 left on the clock in the first quarter.

• Lea Favre hit a jumper with 24 seconds left on the clock to give Rider a 15-13 advantage after one quarter of play. Aaliyah Dunham led Xavier with five points in the first frame.

• The second quarter featured three lead changes and two ties. Xavier led 21-19 on a Deja Ross jumper at the 4:16 mark before the Broncs closed the half on an 8-2 run, taking a 27-23 advantage into the locker room.

• A'riana Gray led Xavier with six points and four rebounds at the break. Aaliyah Dunham added five points, four rebounds and two steals.

SECOND HALF

• Rider went 5-for-9 from the floor to open the second stanza, building an 11-point advantage (41-30) at the 4:57 mark. Xavier responded by going on an 8-0 run capped by a Lauren Wasylson three pointer to get within three points (41-38) with 2:29 on the clock. The Broncs closed the third quarter by scoring five unanswered points to take a 46-38 lead.

• Xavier closed within four points four times in the final quarter. A Deja Ross free throw with 40 seconds left in regulation made the score 61-57, but the Broncs would go 3-for-4 from the charity stripe down the stretch - pulling away for the seven-point win.

• Deja Ross scored eight of her 10 points in the second half, while Carrie Gross scored seven of her 11 points in the second half. Ashley Gomez scored five points on 2-for-2 shooting in the second half.

NOTABLES

• Four players scored in double figures at Rider: A'riana Gray (11), Carrie Gross (11), Aaliyah Dunham (11) and Deja Ross (10). The last time Xavier had four players score in double figures in a game was on March 3, 2019 vs Georgetown at Cintas Center.

• Aaliyah Dunham added a career-high six rebounds. A'riana Gray matched Dunham for the team high in rebounds with six.

• Xavier posted 10 steals paced by A'riana Gray who had three. The Musketeers scored 14 points off of turnovers.

• Lauren Wasylson and Ashley Gomez combined for 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting.
