Paul Scruggs Earns BIG EAST Honor For The Second Straight Week

Scruggs and teammate Tyrique Jones were named to the Charleston Classic All-Tournament Team
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University junior Paul Scruggs has earned a spot on the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week. Scruggs averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals for Xavier's three games in the Charleston Classic, while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team along with senior teammate Tyrique Jones.
Scruggs, who was named preseason honorable mention All-BIG EAST, has scored in double figures in all six games he has played in this season. Scruggs leads Xavier in scoring at 15.3 ppg., which ranks eighth in the BIG EAST, including a game-high 24 points in the championship game vs. Florida.
Jones earned his spot on the Charleston Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals for Xavier's three games. Jones leads Xavier in rebounding at 8.7 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST), while ranking third in scoring at 14.3 ppg. (14th in the BIG EAST).
No. 25/23 Xavier, 6-1, hosts Lipscomb on Saturday at noon at Cintas Center.
