Xavier Announces Inspirational Women Essay Contest
11.26.19 | Women's Basketball
In honor of the Women's Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout, kids in grades 8 and under are invited to tell us who inspires them
CINCINNATI - In honor of the Women's Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout, Xavier Athletics has announced the Inspirational Women Essay Contest. The Crosstown Shootout is a great display of women's basketball with two teams competing right here in Cincinnati. For those young girls aspiring to become college basketball players, our student-athletes and coaches pride themselves on being role models for these young girls. And every person on each team has been inspired by a woman in their lives to get to where they are today.
We want to hear from all kids in grades 8 and under here in the Greater Cincinnati area about a great woman who inspires them in their daily lives - their mom, grandma, teacher, sister, friend, whoever it may be.
In 100 words or less, tell us about that inspirational woman and why you want to share them with the world. The writers of the three winning essays will be recognized on-court during the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2:00 p.m. The winners will also receive a Xavier prize pack and four free tickets to the game. All kids who submit an essay will receive a complimentary ticket to the Women's Basketball Crosstown Shootout.Â
Essays can be submitted online at GoXavier.com/Inspire.
Submissions for the Inspirational Women Essay Contest be accepted until Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m. Winners will be notified before Tuesday, Dec. 10.
