No. 23 Xavier Heads To Wake Forest On Saturday For The Skip Prosser Classic

Musketeers take a three-game winning streak to Wake.
CINCINNATI --- No. 23 Xavier, 9-1 and winner of three straight games, returns to action this Saturday at Wake Forest after taking the week off from games for semester exams. This will be the seventh game in the Skip Prosser Classic, which has honored the late former head coach of both institutions since the 2009-10 season. XU has won four of the six meetings in the series, including the last three games.
The Musketeers, coming off a win over rival Cincinnati last Saturday, will be playing their first true road game. XU played three neutral site games in Charleston in November.

• Xavier's Naji Marshall, who had a career-high tying 31 points vs. Cincinnati, leads XU in scoring at 17.0 ppg. (fifth in BIG EAST) and assists at 3.7 apg. (ninth in BIG EAST), while ranking second in rebounding at 6.0 rpg. (10th in BIG EAST).
• Xavier junior Paul Scruggs is second on the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg. (15th in the BIG EAST). He has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll twice this season.
• Xavier senior Quentin Goodin now has 484 career assists, sixth in Xavier history, and is just 12 assists shy of fourth place.
• Xavier senior Tyrique Jones leads XU at 9.4 rpg. (fourth in BIG EAST), including 11.0 rpg. over the last three games. He is the BIG EAST offensive rebound leader (4.3 rpg.).
• Xavier junior Jason Carter, the only non-returnee in the starting lineup, has started each of the last nine games.
• Xavier freshman Zach Freemantle, who blocked five shots in the win over UConn in Charleston, tied for team-high honors with 15 points vs. Lipscomb on Nov. 30.
