Men's Basketball Finishes The Two-Game Homestand With Butler On Wednesday

Xavier is coming off an impressive 97-84 win over Providence.
CINCINNATI ---- The Xavier University Musketeers, 10-7 overall and 2-4 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the Butler University Bulldogs, 10-6 overall and 1-4 in the BIG EAST, on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Cintas Center. Xavier is coming off a 97-84 win over Providence on Saturday, while Butler has been off since Jan. 6.
Xavier senior Malik Messina-Moore, who was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll this week, leads Xavier and is ranked third in the BIG EAST in scoring for league play at 17.2 ppg., while shooting a league-leading 44.7 percent from 3-point territory and ranking third in 3-pointers per game (2.8) in league play.

• Xavier, 10-7 overall and 2-4 in the BIG EAST Conference, snapped a three-game losing streak with a 97-84 win over Providence on Saturday.
• Xavier senior Malik Messina-Moore has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll after averaging 22.5 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in games vs. Marquette and Providence. He passed 1,000 points for his collegiate career during his 23-point effort vs. PC.
• Xavier's Malik Messina-Moore leads Xavier in scoring for BIG EAST games at 17.2 ppg., which ranks third in the league. He has raised his season average to 10.5 ppg., one of four Musketeers averaging in double figures in scoring.
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST and is fifth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.91. XU is 10th in the nation in turnover percentage at 13.4 percent.
• Xavier is second in the BIG EAST in assists and 20th in the nation at 18.4 apg. XU's assist percentage (67.6 percent) is fourth in the nation.
• Xavier ranks second in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals per game at 9.8; XU has hit 10+ 3-point field goals in 10 games, including each of the last three games.
• Xavier senior Filip Borovićanin has recorded seven double-doubles, which ranks second in the BIG EAST and 21st in the nation. He has four in the last five games.
• Xavier's Filip Borovićanin has averaged 10.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game over the last 12 games. For the season, he leads Xavier in rebounding (third in the BIG EAST at 8.0 rpg.), assists (fifth at 4.1 apg.) and steals (tied for ninth at 1.5 spg.).
• Xavier graduate student Tre Carroll, who leads XU in scoring at 15.9 ppg. (fourth in the BIG EAST), has scored in double figures in a team-high 15 games.
• Xavier sophomore Jovan Milićević is third on the team in scoring at 10.9 ppg. and is seventh in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals per game (2.1). He scored a career-high 22 points, hitting 8-12 from the field (4-5 on 3-pointers) with eight rebounds vs. Providence.
• Xavier graduate student Roddie Anderson III is second on the team in scoring (18th in the BIG EAST at 12.9 ppg.). He has scored in double figures in all six BIG EAST games.
