Samantha Dewey, Grace Bahr Named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team

Dewey earns spot on first team, Bahr named to second team
CINCINNATI - Following a record-breaking season for No. 24 Xavier women's soccer, a pair of Musketeers were named to United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Teams. Samantha Dewey earned a spot on the All-East First Team, while Grace Bahr was named to the All-East Second Team.
Dewey, a midfielder/forward, started in all 23 matches for the Musketeers, leading the squad on offense with 30 points on 13 goals, including four game-winners, as well as four assists. Her 13-goal senior season will go as the fourth most in a single season in program history while the team's 43 goals scored are the second most in program history.
Dewey, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., finished her career with 103 points on 40 goals and 23 assists. She was named to the All-East Region Third Team following the 2018 season.
Bahr, a midfielder/defender, started in all 23 matches and played a team-high 2128 minutes on Xavier's backline, helping the Musketeers to force 13 shutouts, a program record. The Musketeers' 17 goals allowed on the season match the 1997 team for fourth fewest in a season in program records.
Bahr, a native of Broadview Heights, Ohio, also played a major role in Xavier's offense from the backline, totaling 13 points on two goals and nine assists. Her nine assists are fourth most in a single season in Xavier's record books.
Dewey and Bahr were both named First Team All-BIG EAST after leading the Musketeers to the program's first regular season conference championship. The Musketeers moved on to win the BIG EAST Championship, the program's first since joining the conference, and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, the program's tournament berth first since 2000 and third overall.
In Xavier's NCAA opening round match-up, the Musketeers topped Virginia Tech, 1-0, for the program's first NCAA Tournament win, putting the season win total at 17, also a school record.
